08. Conclusion
To summarize everything, my blog has discussed about the use of technology in recruitment & selection. Online recruitment has been identified as the most efficient recruitment method, it branches into: Talent Management Systems, Advertising on the company’s website, job boards and social media network. There are some privacy and discrimination issues with online recruitment, but it does more good than harm.
Some of the technological techniques that are mentioned in this blog are video-based interviews, internet-based recruitment and assessment, artificial intelligence. It also shows the both the internal and external factors that impacts the technological trends in the recruitment and selection process.
After considering all these facts I must say advanced technological adoption is the future of recruitment and selection process for the HR professionals not only in the finance industry, but also in almost all the industries in the business world.
Dasun, your articles on the selection process are very well written.
ReplyDeleteYou've covered most of the methods used by the finance industry in the recruitment process.
We do know, however, that a proper hiring procedure is currently lacking, particularly in the banking industry. As a result, the future of the industry is in danger. Despite the current economic climate, it is imperative to hire the right person for the job.
In this pandemic/economic crisis, how do you recommend the banking industry select the best candidates?
Yes, it has been a struggle to find good, qualified candidates for open positions in banks. But surveys have shown that since the pandemic began, people’s attitudes about work have changed, and it might take more than an acceptable hourly wage to draw them. Some have become comfortable working from home. Banks have lots of competitors for workers. particularly for administrative, IT, HR, marketing, and accounting positions, which can be done from home in some form. I think even as the pandemic diminishes, banks will continue to find ways to attract and retain good talent in a tight labor pool. Perhaps finding ways to involve retirees and utilizing things like part-time positions, job-sharing, work from home, etc. will become the way of the future. But of course virtual recruitments will be the obvious recommended option in pandemic situation.
DeleteYou have given us more knowledge on your topic Dasun. Thank you for that. With this Covid -19 Pandemic now the employers around the world are moving more towards online recruiting and selection methods. Hope in Sri Lanka also this becomes more familiar and popular among employees, especially the state sector.
ReplyDeleteYes Piyumi, I think day by day it will be popular in Sri Lanka state sector as well.
DeleteDasun, this is an interesting issue in HRM and you have addressed this issue in a good manner. For my point of view I also think using advanced technological techniques in recruitment and selection process is rational due to many reasons such as it reduces human bias promotes diversity.
